When Do The Times of the Gentiles end ?
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Luke 21:24
If God truly does exist, where is he? The world is full of evil, power hungry, Greedy and immoral men and women who are in positions of power… oppressing, deceiving, and murdering populations and even civilizations. And they try to cover their deeds by claiming they are good and all is on the level. Is there no end to it? Will God keep silent forever? Where are thoe old days? When God made himself known to the Pharoah of Egypt. When he led the Israelites through the Red Sea and the deserts to the Promised land. When he spoke to Moses face to face. Or even much later, When Jesus Christ, the son of God, healed the sick and the lame; expelled demons and multiplied the fishes and the bread.
Will God yet show himself to unbelieving mankind again? And if so ,when? And why has he seemingly to many, disappeared for so long a time?
It is as the bible describes; Wild beasts have had dominion over the earth with seemingly no interference from God at all. He has no nation on the earth that he can call his own. But there was at time, long ago when God showed himself active in the affairs of men, and his actions were clearly seen, through the nation of Israel, where he had placed his name.
Psalm 77:20 78:12-16.
Yet, unfaithfulness put an end to that ancient nation, and instead of having a nation to dwell in, his people from that time forward would be pilgrims and “strangers” in the earth. But this new “nation” of “strangers”, who would carry their identity inwardly, in their hearts and minds, would not prove unfaithful, for they would have God’s law written in their hearts, and all of them would know God, from the least to the greatest. Jeremiah 31:32,33,34.
Although many claiming to be of this new nation have been proven to be phonies and imposters , God HAS gotten for himself a new nation of his sons, and when the number of them is complete, they will begin their rule. This nation will have more than a say or part in the affairs of men. For they will be a part of the Kingdom of which Christ spoke of when he said “Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” This kingdom will rule over the whole earth, for… “his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” Daniel 7:14. And he shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. Psalm 72:8.
This is truly the “gospel”, or better translated the “good news” of the kingdom of God.
What a most wonderful time, full of peace and quietness and love and righteousness, the world will experience. Like none other, ever! Instead of lies and deception, loneliness, hunger, cruelty and murder; there will be pure true love, healing truth, kindness, and even prosperity and perfect health. There will be no end for those whom God loves, for he has prepared the tree of life, that they may eat therefrom and live forever! Genesis 3:22 Revelation 22:1-3.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4.
Can you imagine such a wonderful time? Truly all men then living will know how wonderful and loving our Creator really is! There will be no doubts or question. All things will be openly exposed, and the lies and doctrines that have made God out to be someone other than who he truly is, as contrived by unrighteous and unscrupulous men, will have no more power over the minds and hearts of those living . Truly his name will be cleansed from all lies and impurities, and the prayer Jesus taught us to pray will be fulfilled. “Our father in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” To be hallowed or made holy, is to make it bright and glorious and full of light, with no part darkened or misrepresented. And those who see the light and love this light, shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Psalm 37:11. God is the true author of peace. He is the way to peace. All who truly know him know peace, and no lasting and real peace can be had without him.
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9. That is how wonderful these promises are, and how wonderful God is. Far beyond anything man has experienced or seen or imagined. And yet God has revealed these things to his chosen, and has filled their hearts with them. For “God has revealed them unto us by his spirit: for the spirit searcheth into all things, yea, the deep things of God.” Vs. 10.
It would be fun and spiritually strengthening to dwell on these things only. But to strengthen our faith even more in these promises of God, let us look into his word of truth, and see if we might come to a better understanding of some of the prophesies given to us by God through his prophets, written down for us and contained in his Holy word, the Holy Bible.
There is one particular prophesy I want to concentrate on here that has long eluded the real understanding of men. One that the understanding of, I feel, has been given to me, and I in turn feel a need or responsibility to share it with the rest of the world, or as many as who might seek to truly know him.
Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams
“The kings heart is in the hand of the LORD (YHVH), as rivers of water: he turneth it withersoever he will.”, writes the son of David ,King Solomon. Proverbs 21:1
He would have known, being the king of Israel, the nation in a covenant relationship with God. But YHVH has also directly dealt with, and used other Kings and Kingdoms to accomplish his purposes. He has continued to do so and will continue to do so in the future. The extent and details may not often be known to man. But there are details revealed in his word that were written in order to impart knowledge to us who seek to understand, especially us living in these difficult and trying times.
The pharaoh of Egypt came to know YHVH, or Jehovah, the most common English pronunciation for the name of the God of the Holy bible, shortly before his death. Much later, God used the Assyrians to punish the 10 northern tribes of Israel, by taking them captive and ruling over their territories. Later the southern tribes of Judah and Benjamin were taken captive to Babylon; Jerusalem, and the temple being destroyed. And then some years later a decree was Issued by Cyrus , King of Persia, “even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundations shall be laid.” Isaiah 44:28 Yes, as God had promised , they were to be restored to their homeland, for the prophet greater than Moses, the promised messiah was yet to come and make his appearance to this nation and to all men..
Another example was Bel-shazzar, son of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, when he was visited by an angel, and there appeared a man’s hand, that wrote upon the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace, words which signified the end of his kingdom that very night. Daniel 5.
Then there is Nebuchadnezzar himself, who had quite an incredible, intense and extensive involvement with the God of heaven.
And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him. Daniel 2:1 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation. Dan 2:16
This dream was made known and interpreted to Daniel. This dream, given to King Nebuchadnezzar spoke of a time yet future , which would witness the end of rulership by the kingdoms and governments of man. We read….
“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.” Daniel 2:44
In the fourth chapter of Daniel we read of another dream had by Nebuchadnezzar, directly and dramatically dealing with his very life, and ultimately, I believe, also having to do with the end of man’s rulership over the earth.
Nebuchadnezzar describes the dream as follows…
“Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great. The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth: The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it. And I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and behold, a watcher And an holy one came down from heaven; He cried aloud, and said thus,
Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches: Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him. This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones : To the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the Kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.” Daniel 4: 10-17.
The meaning
Notice that the purpose of this prophetic dream is “To the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the Kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.” (KJV)
The word “basest” here is more properly translated lowliest or most humble. The meaning of certain English words in King James’s day , and hence in the KJV of the Holy Bible has changed somewhat, in some cases. The humility here spoken of is in reference to submission and humility towards God. In seeking his will and his truth, and in relying on him for the answers to all questions in our lives, and for our very life itself. The opposite of this is pride and stiffneckedness. Going forward in presumptuousness and sin and error. If continued, this can only lead to death.
King Nebuchadnezzar learned most valuable lessons in this regard, and he had to suffer seven years of madness and live like an unreasoning beast, before his reason returned to him. Read the whole account in your own Bible.
In his own words, “And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom [is] from generation to generation: And all the inhabitants of the earth [are] reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and [among] the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? At the same time my reason returned unto me;” Daniel 4:34-36.
Nebuchadnezzar learned a great deal from his experience. He was brought very low, lower than any man you might say, for he was brought down to the state of a beast. And when his reason returned to him and his kingdom restored to him, he humbly gave praise and honour to the one to whom it is due. He knew that it was God, the God of heaven, “whose dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom [is] from generation to generation.”
Especially today, with men and nations committing crime, deception and murder unprecedentedly, this knowledge, that ” the most High ruleth in the Kingdom of men,” would mean a great change for this world. It is God’s intent “that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the Kingdom of men”, and his will, will be done in earth. The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good. Psa 14:1 Until this time, yet future, the madness and insanity we are now experiencing on this earth will only increase. Until God gives rulership of this earth ” to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest (humblest) of men . Of Moses it is written, (Now the man Moses [was] very meek, above all the men which [were] upon the face of the earth.) Num. 12:3 And ” For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.” Act 3:22 Yes, Rulership over this earth will be given to his only-begotten Son, ” a prophet greater than Moses”, who died as a ransom for our sinful and dying condition, and who has now been set “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come” Eph. 1:21 “and has sat down at the right hand of God, awaiting for his enemies to be made his footstool.” Hebrews 10:12,13
The fulfillment of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream upon himself, was, I believe, prophetic in itself, illustrating in real life, the significance of this prophecy extending far in to the future.
Measuring time
If this dream is indeed an illustration of the time period for the start and end of all the madness encompassing our earth, just when did this time period begin, and when will it end? Has God actually provided us a means to measure in time, this period of insanity, so that we might look forward to, with anticipation and relief, the end to all of this madness, and finally experience the full blessings our hearts so earnestly hope for ! Of course!! And This very real possibility, of measuring this time period, is what we now will examine.
As spoken of earlier , there was once a time when YHVH had his own nation upon this earth, the nation of Israel. Concerning the throne of David, the second King to rule over Israel, we read “And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.” 2Sa 7:16 These words were spoken by Nathan who was a prophet of God. The reason why God could say these words in reference to the throne of David, is because the promised seed that would establish this throne forever was Jesus Christ an actual descendant of David through Mary. God had set up his Kingdom in ancient times through the nation of Israel. But as an unfaithful wife, Israel became disobedient to our Heavenly Father, and although God sent them prophets with pleadings and warnings, God was forced to divorce this nation, likened unto an unfaithful harlot, and with the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple therein, the line of Kings descending from David and sitting on the throne was interrupted until…..he come whose right it is…
To this last king, Zedekiah, who suffered this destruction, his eyes being gouged out and then taken prisoner to Babylon (2Ki 25:7), we read “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, [I say], that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand. And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity [shall have] an end, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this [shall] not [be] the same: exalt [him that is] low, and abase [him that is] high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no [more], until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [him]. Ezekiel 21:24-27. Jerusalem has been destroyed twice already, and the final overturning is yet to come! 2 Thessalonians 2
After 70 years of exile and punishment, Jerusalem and the temple were restored, and the daily sacrifice was once again restored, but the throne of David was not. The reason being,
God had given his word that ” it shall be no [more], until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [him].” Ezekiel 21:27
So if these times of the gentiles did indeed begin with Zedekiah’s dethronement (who sat on the throne of David) , how can we count the time from Zedekiah’s dethronement, to arrive at the time “until he come whose right it is”
Jesus Christ, a descendant of David will once again sit on the throne, ruling for God and once again establishing the Kingdom of God, this time with everlasting success, and everlasting blessings, reaching all heaven and earth !!
Well, in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, we read “Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.” Daniel 4:16. These seven times proved to be seven years in Nebuchadnezzar’s life. For in the book of Revelation we are given the means for understanding “times”. Three and a half times, equaling 42 months or three and one half years. (Compare Revelation 13:5 and Revelation 12:4.) These 3 and one half years are also spoken of as being 1,260 days. That would make each year 360 days. 360 days times 7 (times or years) would be 2,520 days.
Applying the same prophetic measurement given to the prophet Ezekiel.. “I have appointed thee each day for a year”, ( Ezekiel 4:6) when the prophet was sent to illustrate to the house of Israel and Judah, the years in which he would bear their iniquity.
If were were to follow this pattern here we would have 2,520 years.
Now, to anchor ourselves in the measuring of time, ( connecting it to our day) as written in the word of God, let us look to book Daniel the ninth chapter. Here the angel Gabriel is sent to the beloved Daniel, to impart skill and understanding to him in reference to the counting of time until the first coming of the Messiah. We read…
“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Daniel 9:24-27.
These “seventy weeks have also proved to follow the pattern “a day for a year.” Seventy weeks, or seventy times seven is 490 days. Prophetically 490 years. So we can count back 490 years from the time of Christ to arrive at the year when “the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem” took place. In this way we establish BIBLE chronology, based not on the ever changing and conflicting theories and histories of men, but solidly on the word of God! Now the scripture says that ” from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:” This is referring to his arrival on the scene anointed by God for his preaching work. (Read Luke 4:18) The reason why he causes the “sacrifice and oblation to cease” “in the midst of the week” is because three and one half years into his ministry he himself was killed , becoming the sacrificial lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world” John 1:29
Now when did “the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem” take place. We do not need to theorize for the answer here, for God himself plainly tells us, so that there should be no misunderstanding. Here we read in Isaiah , chapter 44. Thus saith the LORD [YHVH], thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I [am] the LORD that maketh all [things]; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; …. That saith of Cyrus, [He is] my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid. vs. 24,28.
So Cyrus the Persian gave the commandment or the word, “even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid”. Now we can begin to put a date somewhat close to the time when the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and it’s temple, and deposed Zedekiah from the throne. Based on the witness of certain ancient historians, ect. ,it is believed by some chronologies that Jesus began his preaching work in 29 A.D. Others would vary to within a few years. But for now, and for the sake of argument, we will use the date of 30.A.D.
If we subtract 483 years from this (62&7 X 7) we arrive at the date 454 B.C. So if Cyrus gave the word to build in this year, how can we count backwards in time to arrive at the date for Zedekiah’s dethronement? Does the bible provide this information? Possibly , but it is not that simple.
Daniel writes “In the first year of Darius, the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes….In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of years, whereof the word of the LORD (YHVH) came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.” Daniel 9:1,2.
And so we read from Jeremiah…”And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon 70 years. And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD (YHVH), for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.” Jeremiah 25:12.
Yes, Daniel was taken captive when Jerusalem fell to Nebuchadnezzar. It was during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar’s son Belshazzar, that Darius the Median took the Kingdom of Babylon. Thus completing the final 70 years of the Babylonian kingdom.
We read in chapter 5 of Daniel, of the writing on the wall of his palace on the night of a great feast, by an angel’s hand. MENE MENE TEKEL, UPHARSIN. translated….
God hath numbered thy kingdom and finished it.
Thou art weighed in the balances and found wanting.
Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
“In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans (or Babylonians) slain. And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.” Daniel 5:30,31.
This ended the last 70 years of the Babylonian empire and also the seventy years of punishment of Israel for her sins was nearing completion. Now the temple rebuilding work would be successful. But some 49 years prior to this, Cyrus sent out his decree or “proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD (YHVH) God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD (YHVH) his God be with him, and let him go up.” 2 Chronicles 36:22,23. But all their efforts at rebuilding proved futile. The reason being, that the land had to be lain desolate for the full 70 years. These seventy years began to end around this time, at the beginning of Darius’s reign when Daniel began to understand these matters. Now Jerusalem and the temple rebuilding work would be successful! And it was!
Here is how we can observe how the end of these seventy years are marked for us in the scriptures.
Nehemiah, Ezra, Haggai and Zechariah, as well as Zerubbabel and Joshua, were all contemporaries in the successful rebuilding of the temple and the wall surrounding Jerusalem
Very near to the completion of the seventy years we read, “in the second year of Darius, came the word of YHVH to Zechariah. Then the angel of the LORD (YHVH)….said, O LORD (YHVH) of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem…. Which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?” Zech. 1:12.Notice he says… THESE threescore and ten years. Yes they were very near the end of the 70 years here.
Two years later, or in the forth year of Darius (as we read in Zechariah 7:1) the word of (YHVH) again comes to Zechariah. In verse 5 God speaks, saying,“ When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?”
Now those 70 years are past, which is why Zechariah want to know if the people should continue to fast and mourn as that had for the past 70 years. But God gives them a rebuke for their hypocritical display of fasting and mourning. None the less God gives his blessing and the work proceeds successfully and is completed in the sixth year of Darius. Read Ezra 6:14, 15. So if the seventy years ended sometime between the second and forth year of Darius, it would be reasonable that the seventy years ended in the third year of Darius.
Now how can we know the exact year Zechariah was dethroned, which would begin the start for the count of these Gentile times? What we need to know is the time measurement, from the first year of Cyrus, when he issued the decree for the rebuilding of Jerusalem, until the second year of Darius. We will look only to the scriptures in these things.
Interestingly, the Jewish Encyclopedia counts 45 years from the beginning of Cyrus’s reign to the completion of the Temple in the 6th year of Darius. The Bible itself does not say explicitly. But may indicate this period of time to be the 7 weeks of years [49 years] mentioned in Daniel 9:25. As noted earlier, the seventy years is actually marked as probably ending in the second or third year of Darius.
This would be Forty-nine years after the first year of Cyrus, when the decree was given for the Jews to return to their homeland. Seventy years minus forty-nine years leaves Twenty-one years. So it may be twenty-one years from the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar, to the first year of Cyrus, when he made his decree for the rebuilding of Jerusalem. This makes sense according to scripture. Any other Chronology ignores scripture.
This explains why, when Daniel received the prophesy concerning the coming of the messiah, the sixty-nine weeks were divided into two parts. “unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:” (seven and 69) Daniel 9:25 The seven weeks equals a period of 49 days or prophetically “years”. God is giving us the measurement of 49 years to mark something. Either the time when the 70 years of desolation would be fulfilled , or else until the time when the temple is completed. The difference is 4 years here. For the sake of argument, we will use the second year of Darius being the end of the seven weeks of years here.
And also the end of the seventy years of desolations.
YHVH tells Daniel…
“Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” Daniel 12:9,10.
The wicked do not trust fully in the word of God, but trust men instead.
It reminds me of what Paul says concerning those who do not understand in the time of the end….
“[Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12.
Satan has been waging a campaign of great deception upon this earth, even concerning the end of these gentile times, using secularists to fudge or confuse the dates of ancient history, or even creating a false coming of Christ.
This modern day deception concerning the gentile times began in 1823. Thou it might have been well intentioned. ?
1823 Rev John Brown realizes that the period is 2520 years long and using erroneous secular dates, believes it started in 604BC which he claims is the accession of Nebuchadnezzar. He calculates that the 2520 years would end in 1917AD if they started in 604BC.
In 1875, Nelson Barbour calculates that the 2520 years start in 606, this being 70 years before 536 when he thought the Jews rebuilt the altar . He miscalculates (He said he forgot that there was no 0 BC, it went 1 BC then 1 AD ) that the 2520 years end in 1914
In 1876, Charles T. Russell publishes the same in his Bible Examiner.
Russell publishes ” Zion’s Watchtower and Herald of Christ presence”. From this small beginning we have what today is the Watchtower Bible and tract society, publishers of the Watchtower and awake magazines. They still hold to the date of 19 14, as being the return of Christ, (but invisibly). And they (wrongly I believe} say it was Nehemiah who gave the command to restore Jerusalem!
And all their claims of authority rest on this date.
There are others who say that the return of Jews to Palestine, and the forming of the nation of Israel is fulfillment of this prophesy of the end of Gentile dominion. Some have pointed to the Balfour declaration as an ends to these gentile times. They point to the prophesy concerning Israel as found in the law. “Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.” Lev 26:24
And this prophesy is the word of God and is also true. Again, marking the seven times mentioned in the book of Daniel for this insane period of Gentile dominion. The problem in their calculations being, they have rejected the son of God, and seek to establish a global empire themselves, by worldly and secular means and not by relying on or waiting on YHVH. This is another great deception, and will ultimately be far greater than the one advanced by the Watchtower Bible and tract society.
Well, getting back to our timetable. Measuring back seven weeks or 21 years from the date of the decree issued by Cyrus (455 B.C.), we come to the year 476 B.C. as possibly being the year when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians, when Zedekiah was dethroned. The time when rule and dominion by man and his Kingdoms and governments, without interference from the God of Heaven would start. Counting forward in time 2,520 years or seven times, brings us to the year 2046 A.D., if Jesus was born in the year zero or one, as the calendar makers seemed to have believed. What is to happen in this year? Well, if this prophesy in Daniel 4, is indeed measuring the times of the Gentiles, even Jesus spoke of, and I have calculated correctly, we would expect to see the end of the Gentile times, and Christ sitting on the throne of David . And the establishment of the Kingdom of God in the hands of his only-begotten son, Jesus Christ in the heavens. But the bible gives us even more insight into the matter.
The bible tells us there is to be a “new heavens and a new earth” Isa 65:17. And we know that Christ will come again, not born of man, but as a “Mighty God” in heavenly glory, and his Kingdom will be “New Jerusalem” a heavenly one. Mat 25:31, Isa 9:6, Rev 3:12. Paul says… ” But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. ” Gal 4:26, The heavens will first be cleansed of all demons and wicked angels in rebellion against God; and then the earth is to be cleansed. First of all from the wicked institutions and governments of man.(Rev 19:20) And then during his reign of a thousand years he will cleanse this earth of all wickedness and sin, and finally after his reign of a thousand years is complete, all wickedness and wicked ones will be eradicated from heaven and earth, and we will truly be living in a “new heavens and new earth” in which righteousness dwells!.
But the bible says that first, power was given unto the beast to continue forty [and] two months. This is when the book of Revelation is unveiled and fulfilled.
In Revelation, the twelfth chapter, we read,… “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night…..Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
Yes, at his time, the Kingdom of God is born. ” , Now is come salvation, and strength, and the Kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ.” The heavens will rejoice at this time , but instead of relief, the earth is to experience the worst of all times ! ” but woe unto the earth…for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” The result is what Jesus describes ..”For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” Mathew 24:21.
Yes, the gentile times have ended, and God’s Kingdom rules. It is only a matter of time , before relief is felt on earth. And there was given unto him (the beast) a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. Rev.13:6. So this extra time , as it were, was given unto the beast ( global government) to continue, in order to separate the righteous from the wicked, and so that all that is righteous may be carried out. Those who worship the beast and satan, will perish eternally, and will be counted as the goats who are cursed everlastingly, and suffer eternal death. Those who have proved themselves faithful to God and to the little flock of Jesus’s sheep, his true brothers, will inherit eternal life. This is all told in Mathew chapter 25, vs. 31-46. In that last verse he concludes, speaking of the wicked,…”And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
These will be most difficult times to live through. The persecution of the wicked upon the righteous will be intense. But God’s word promises us…
“[it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”
It will be as the when Israel was delivered from the marching armies of Egyptians, and Moses spoke unto them these words… ” Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of YHVH, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”
Righteousness will now begin to flourish and real healing will begin without interference from Satan and and his minions. We must wait patiently and see exactly how the will of God is carried out. No man knows the day or hour. May we continue in prayer and supplication to God for our own salvation, and in anticipation of his great work, and that we may stand in that day.
Isa 28:21 For the LORD ( YHVH) shall rise up as [in] mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as [in] the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

He will swallow up death in victory; And YHVH will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for YHVH hath spoken it. Isaiah 25:8.

Jesus may actually have been born in the year zero and the Calendar makers seem to have believed in the Bible. After all, the Calendar came into existence hundreds of years after the time of Christ. Mankind has not kept an unwavering record of time. Anyone wanting to chart, for example, 100 BC to 2000 AD, would have to contend with the fact that 46 BC was 445 days long, , and in 1582 we switched from Julian to Gregorian years. Because most prognosticators are not aware of all of these errors, their math is immediately off by several years.

The Times of the Gentiles Recalculated- When do the scriptures say they end?
A prior look….
While recently doing an in depth study of the entire bible, I found myself rereading Haggai and Zechariah, and then Ezra and Nehemiah, trying to get the right sequence of events. The question of the seventy weeks of years came up again, and I found myself rereading Watchtower chronology and their teaching on the Gentile times (Appointed Times of the nations) as presented in their “insight ” book. I had heard that their Chronology was in an obvious way flawed, and knew that the former governing body member, Ray Franz ,upon discovery of this , and when he refused to back down, was soon after disfellowshipped. But reading this information in the “insight” book, I was impressed at how reasonable it was to suggest that the Gentile times are something real, as taught by Jehovah’s witnesses. That Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of seven years of insanity had to have greater fulfillment than just on this one man so long ago. God’s word is purified seven times, and God will very often use an economic approach to words, that are of Great importance with prophetic implication far beyond the ancient world. The lesson and connection was obvious. The heart of a beast was given to the kingdoms of mankind until he comes whose legal right it is. And ” to the intent that the living may know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest (or lowliest, humblest) of men”. ….. And who will God give it to? The one who has the legal right, of course. The Son of David, the promised seed of God’s woman. The one who bruises the head of the serpent and sets up his Kingdom and rules forever upon this earth. The Christ, the anointed one, Jesus , the Messiah. Yes, the Kingdom was cut off from the house of David at the end of Zedekiah’s rule, when this same Nebuchadnezzar who had this prophetic dream, burned the City of Jerusalem to the ground, and put out the eyes of this wicked King Zedekiah, and carried him captive to Babylon. As stated there at Ezekiel 21:27 in reference to this Davidic Kingdom…”I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.” It is speaking of the same thing in both these bible books. God giving rulership to him whom he will, whose right it is. The end of Zedekiah’s reign is the beginning of the grander fulfilment of Nebuchadnezzar‘s dream I believe, the beginning of the rule of the gentiles over the earth without direct interference from the Kingdom of God, with a descendent of David on the throne. The heart of a man (representing God’s rule) standing in contrast to the heart of a beast representing man’s rule independent of God. Even the Catholic church which claimed to rule for Christ, was unrelenting in it’s hunger and greed for ungodly power. Power that was devoid of reason and love and only demanded obedience without question. Despite her claims, it WAS rule independent from God. It did not have the heart of man. It was not the promised Kingdom of Heaven taught by Christ and his disciples, as it made claim.
I believe that the end of these Gentile Times will Find Christ actually on the Throne ruling from Jerusalem, The City of the Great King. The same Jerusalem he mentions at Luke 21, when he says… “and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” He was speaking of earthly Jerusalem. Where on earth do you think God’s Kingdom will rule from, upon this earth? There is no doubt. The scriptures say.. JERUSALEM!. Zec 12:6
But in what year exactly did these seven times begin? Of course this is the key to the puzzle. Did they begin in 607 B.C. as taught by Jehovah’s witnesses? Thereby (using the day for a year calculation) bringing us to the year 1914 A.D? Somehow this is not making total sense. I do not think so. (I believe It has proved to be instead “wars and rumors of wars”) As Jesus told us…”do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end does not follow immediately.” But it is coming. (See One Master) In re-examining this prophesy, I believe that if indeed these seven times are marked as “The Gentile Times”, as they seem to be, their completion is yet future, and the clues as to the year of their completion is all contained in the Word of God. With patience we will examine the evidence and the Chronology.
First let it be said, that I believe our Chronology must rely on the word of God totally. As it is written,” every man is a liar”, but “it is impossible for God to lie. Who would you rather trust? Seriously investigating the WT chronology, it must be admitted that it is somewhat dependent on human tradition or secular history in the matter of the prophesy here under investigation. Of course the date for the birth of Christ must be used, but since our present day calendar is based on his birth (the year of our Lord) even though maybe off a few years we can get pretty close. We will use 0 for sake of argument. If you feel this is in error adjust accordingly.
I cannot help mentioning a movie I happened to catch the other night Called National Treasure with Nicholas Cage. It was all about the secret symbols and messages written down by Freemasons, as to the whereabouts of this enormous treasure they had hidden. One clue and one riddle would lead to another, and only the correct understanding would lead to the treasure. But as each clue was solved, “the ring of truth” gave witness that they had solved that part of the puzzle, and only with their perseverance would they overcome all obstacles and reach their desired end. I must say I felt a little bit like this in my search for answers on this subject. But of course, understanding God’s word, especially something so stupendous as the end of the Gentile Times, is really worth more than all the treasures in the world. As the Proverb says…”Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, [and] liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as [for] hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [cometh] knowledge and understanding.” It seems that the maker of this movie was actually leaving clues pointing to these true treasures of God’s word, or maybe encouraging investigation into the secrets of freemasonry, and yet masking it or keeping it still veiled ,so as not to offend, so to speak. The lessons to be learned are persistence in seeking, and using wisdom to gain understanding in God’s word.
Our dilemma, for those who have eyes to see, begins first with identifying the word or decree spoken of in Daniel Chapter nine “to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince”, and to date it . There are three events or possibilities here. From there we will try to mark the year when Zedekiah’s reign ended, marking the beginning of the Gentile times. The three possibilities are these. Cyrus’s decree for the Jews to return to their homeland and build him an house. Darius’s decree reiterating and strengthening Cyrus’s. Or Artaxerxes answering Nehemiah’s request to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. I believe in reexamining the words given by the angel Gabriel to Daniel we find the key.
Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. I believe the key in understanding which decree this was, lies in the meaning of these “seven weeks” highlighted here in red. Have you ever wondered why the sixty -nine weeks of years are separated in to two groups? Seven weeks and then sixty -two weeks? This 49 years has to be significant. God doesn’t waste words or say meaningless things. Anyway, God’s word is written to his servants and was given to his servant Daniel. Would he want to confuse them?
I felt myself feeling a lot like Daniel recently. Remember in Daniel the ninth chapter how Daniel says, “In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: “Notice the scripture says he understood the number of years, not that he understood that they had already ended. So he began to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes. So here I felt a similarity, asking God to help me with this Chronology to help me to know when these seventy years began and ended “in the desolations of Jerusalem.” Reading different Chronologies and opinions, including Ray Franz, et al.; was bringing me to a fuller understanding, but left me still feeling I had reached a dead end.
To show these seventy years had not really ended yet, Daniel prays…Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.
O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousness, but for thy great mercies. The date of these prayers, Daniel tells us is “In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;” The Jewish encyclopedia gives 45 years from the beginning of Cyrus’s reign to the finishing of the Temple during the 6th year of Darius. The Bible itself does not give the number of yerars explicitly, but provides the needed clues, I believe.
In the book of Zechariah we find Daniels prayers are answered. “Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah” (Zechariah 1:7) “Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years? And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.” Zechariah 1:12,13. Yes, these 70 years were ready to come to a close.
“And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;” (Zechariah 7:1) …”Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying, “Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?” (Zechariah 7:4,5.)
Now we see God speaking of those seventy years in past tense. They are already completed. This was now 49 years after the first year of Cyrus, when the decree was first given for the Jews to return to their homeland. Seventy years minus forty-nine years leaves Twenty-one years . So it was actually twenty-one years from the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar, to the first year of Cyrus. Any other Chronology ignores scripture.
Now “the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem” to Messiah [70x7or 490 years](Daniel 9:25) must be measured from Cyrus’s decree.
“Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and [put it] also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which [is] in Judah. Who [is there] among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which [is] in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he [is] the God,) which [is] in Jerusalem.” To build the house of YHVH in Jerusalem would certainly be the beginning of Jerusalem’s restoration, although not completed for many years. This would mark this decree, figuring 30 AD (or CE) for the beginning of Christ’s ministry, at 454 BC.
I would have to reiterate words written by a certain Philip Mauro From “The Chronology of the Bible” written in 1922, whom I will quote here. “But, after much study of the entire subject, we are convinced that the Scriptures do not leave us in uncertainty as to those necessary matters of fact….Furthermore, it has become quite clear to us that the differences of opinion, to which we are referred, have arisen altogether from the fact that some of our able chronologists and expositors have adopted the mistaken estimates of Ptolemy as the foundation of their systems of dates, instead of grounding themselves upon the chronology of the Bible. Having committed themselves to a chronological scheme which makes the era of the Persian Empire about 80 years too long, they have been compelled to construe the statements of Scripture in such wise as to force them into agreement with that scheme; and inasmuch as the measure of 483 years from the first year of Cyrus would, if Ptolemy’s table be accepted, come short, by many years, of any event in the lifetime of Christ, one must either abandon that table, or else must search for a decree of a Persian king, many years nearer to Christ, to serve as the starting point of the Seventy Weeks of Daniel. The trouble, therefore, is not because of any uncertainty in the Scriptures, but that expositors have turned aside from the Scriptures, and have accepted for the 500 years immediately preceding the coming of Christ, a defective chronology based upon heathen traditions.”
The Chronology of The WT Society as well as most, is based actually upon lunar eclipses, which are quite frequent, sometimes many in one month are are much different from Solar eclipses which are much more rare.
Using that year of 454 BC for Cyrus’s decree fits in perfect with scripture as well as history. In fact it seems to be the correct way to solve the many questions the prophesy found in the Bible book of Daniel raises. For example as to the meaning of the “seven weeks”. Now it all makes much sense, in fact it further fills out and explains the words penned by Daniel. “and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation,”(Daniel 9:27) Yes the consummation is without argument, the end of the trampling of Jerusalem by the Gentiles. “to put an end to sin, .. to bring in everlasting righteousness,” (Daniel 9:24) This will commence when Christ begins his rule from New Jerusalem after Armageddon. When God “the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.” (Daniel 4:32)
There are a few different time measurements given here. Seven weeks…sixty-two weeks…sixty nine weeks… seventy weeks…and one week. While going forward from the time of Cyrus’s decree, the sixty-two and seven weeks and one week are combined giving us seventy weeks, and bringing us to the time of Christ. The end of Zedekiah’s rule which would mark the beginning of the “Times of the Gentiles” if they can indeed be counted at all. Adding 21 years to 454 BC would bring us to the year 475 BC. The year in which Zedekiah removed the crown and was brought to Babylon with his eyes gauged out. The seven times in which the Kingdoms of this world were given over to the heart of a beast, would therefore start in this year, 475 BC , and counting 2520 years , and ending in the year 2045 if Christ was born in the year zero. Zero? You say? After all, the Calendar was made hundreds of years after the time of Christ. If this hypotheses is correct, Jesus Christ will take his Kingly power and begin his reign over all nations from Jerusalem. Not completely at this time, for the nations have been given an additional 42 months. But the time of great trouble would begin then. I find this of interest, …..
But in truth no man knows the day or hour.
And power was given unto him to continue forty and two months; Revelation 13:5
The times of Gentile domination will soon end forever ! And the beginning of pangs of distress will spell their fall!

Adendum..
Nehemiah, Ezra, Haggai and Zechariah, as well as Zerubabel and Joshua, were all contemporaries in the successful rebuilding of the temple and the wall surrounding Jerusalem
But the word or decree to return and build the temple was given earlier by Cyrus the Persian. But the reason why this first word met without complete success , and although the building work had indeed begun, was because the 70 years of punishment as spoken of by Jeremiah had not yet come to it’s completion. Very near to nearing their completion, in the second year of Darius, came the word of YHVH to Zechariah. “Then the angel of YHVH….said, O YHVH of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem…. Which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?” Zech. 1:12. THESE threescore and ten years. We are very near the end of the 70 years here.
Two years later (as we read in Zechariah 7:1) the word of (YHVH) again comes to Zechariah. In verse 5 God speaks, saying, “When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? Now those 70 years are past, which is why Zechariah want to know if the people should continue to fast and mourn as that had for the past 70 years. But God gives them a rebuke for their hypocritical display of fasting and mourning. None the less God gives his blessing and the work proceeds successfully and is completed in the 6/th year of Darius. Read Ezra 6:14, 15.
Nehemiah arrives on the scene with permission some years earlier while the temple is still in disrepair. The WT dates this as being in the year 455 BCE.
So even if you subtract 70 years from this time, you arrive at the date 525 BCE, which would be when Zechariah is dethroned and the times of the gentiles is said to begin. But this is totally incorrect, because Nehemiah was only allowed to return to Jerusalem to help in the rebuilding. The commandment or word was given by Cyrus 70 years earlier. How do I know? Because God himself tells us who was to be given the word or commandment even before it was given. If you find errors here, I would appreciate it if you would notify me. Thanks!

It is without question that Jesus used the fig tree as a symbol of the nation of Israel. In cursing the fig tree on his way to Jerusalem(No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. ), and also in his parable at Luke k 13:6 A certain [man] had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. The shooting forth of the fig tree and all the trees, also reminds us of Psalm Psa 92:7 which says, When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; [it is] that they shall be destroyed for ever: Psa 12:6 The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Is it not since this time (1967), when Israel regained control of Jerusalem, that we have seen wickedness increasing throughout the world, at a rate unparalleled in all human history? And yet it will not continue forever, for as Jesus says, Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Certainly the great tribulation itself will not last a generation; in fact from the Book of revelation we see that it covers a period of some 42 months. The measure of a generation in Biblical terms covers a period of 40 years approx. For instance in God’s sentencing the Israelites to roam in the desert for 40 years he says, Num 32:13 And the LORD’S (YHVH’s) anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.
In fact, the fulfillment of Jesus’s words about all these things occurring in that generation in the first century, were fulfilled approx. 40 years later, ending in the final seige upon Jerusalem in 70 A.D. They have since been put away by God as through divorce. Also ,shortly after this time, the Bible as we know it today, came to completion. God has since, turned his attention to the nations (Gentiles), to take out from them, a people for his name. Act 15:14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. This is the time when “God hath concluded them all (together) in unbelief” (Romans 11:32) , both Jews and Gentiles, that he might have mercy on all who repent. As a whole, the Jews have not repented and turned to the “me whom they have pierced” Zec 12:10 ; but instead have strengthened and elevated themselves in a demonic promise to gain all the kingdoms of the world, in return for bowing down and worshipping Satan.

But now the time has come once again to judge and deal with those who” say they are Jews but are of the synogogue of Satan” (yes, she will receive “double according to her works” Rev.18:6.), and even of those who say they are Christ’s, but are also a part of this satanic “church”. The Jewish people have gained tremendous power in the world today, and wield great influence over all nations, as can be seen in these words…We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it.” – Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001 .
This power has allowed them to regain control of Jerusalem, ending so called Gentile domination. But are they really Jews? Along with this, an obviously demonic influence is escalating everywhere throughout the world, continuing today!
In 1962 prayer was ordered to be taken out of the public school system. In 1963 all bible reading was banned, on the grounds it would do injury to children’s minds. An even greater onslaught of satanic propaganda was yet coming. Graphs done of all social phenomena, such as divorce, teenage pregnancy, violent crime, drug abuse, suicide, STD’s, ect., remain very stable throughout the history of the USA for example. But something changed drastically and dramatically in the mid and late 1960’s. Suddenly all these social phenomena and ills, rose at a drastic and alarming rate, sometimes fivefold in a very short period of time. And many continue to rise. Books such as “Future Shock” by Alvin Toffler were written to try to help people cope with the strange moral turn the world was taking. Homosexuality which was always seen as a closet perversion , was suddenly presented as OK, and normal, an approved “choice”, one that no one should be ashamed of. Wow! Abortion was made legal, and birth control became common among the unwed, where it never was before. It was all shocking, destroying the decency we had known so long, and real love and trust was lost, taken from us. Our Innocence was no more. A knowledge of evil was advanced that would destroy all peace and security and trust in our fellow man. Drugs which have always been used among sorcerers and witches (hemp was the main ingredient in the so-called witches brew) were distributed widely among a whole generation of youth, and the satanic spells were cast. Free love (sex) was promoted and encouraged throughout the media. Promising us freedom, we have from that time on, entered into the darkest period of human history thus far. Today it has progressed to the point that the public school system in the USA ,will help children to get abortions while hiding it from their parents. Is this not as Jesus said? Is this not the fulfillment of the words of Christ,… And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Fr. Malachi Martin reported, “Cases of possession and obsession have increased about 750% since the early 1970’s. http://www.aztlan.net/bush_vs_kerry.htm. Certainly this is all leading up to the time of the greatest tribulation this world will ever see, in which we will see even more increase in iniquity, as well as a greater increase in earthquakes, along with global warfare, pestilence, and famine. Certainly the continuing moral decay we are surrounded by and floundering in today, is a drastic wake up call for all who have ears to hear ; that they might search diligently, and with eyes wide open, to keep on the watch.
The good things of the sixties, the unmaterialistic view of the so called “hippies”, their distain for the corruption of the “establishment”, their seeking of a more natural, earthy, and healthy lifestyle, have been pushed out, while sexual immorality and materialism, and greed have been made to flourish, with the assistance of the media et. al. And it seems to be a long time…before the dawn.
Could Jesus be linking the the present day regaining of Jerusalem by the Jews, and the headlong decline of this world into “iniquity”, to the generation that he said would see “all these things fulfilled” in our day?
Hab 2:3 For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Mar 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Eze 34:25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
It is amazing how pure the word of God is!
To see how Jesus could at the same time be of events that took place in the first century, and at the same time speak of the the time of “end of the world”, without lengthy explanations, but with every word coming true is absolutely amazing!
So it is also with regard to the gentile times. There is also a spiritual fulfillment fulfilled on those who would make up New Jerusalem, heavenly Jerusalem while still on earth, in the very time of the end yet to come. The book of Revelation makes reference to this. It reads here… Rev 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty [and] two months. So here, at the commencement of the “Great Tribulation” of Three and a half years, those who would be Christ’s, but not yet entered through the veil into heaven itself, will be trodden down by the Gentiles for forty two months, or the entire reign of the beast. This is also what jesus spoke of when he said in Luke 21:12.But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute [you], delivering [you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. This is the time Christians are to flee, and not look behind. Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. This is the time described at Revelation 12:15…And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood…And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. In this way “New” Jerusalem, is trodden down by the Gentiles, in fullfillment of Christ’s words once again. And yet during this same time God’s two witnesses will be doing an amazing ,and world getting attention work ,over in Jerusalem, where the seat of the beast lies.
And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. Rev. 11:3
It is at the end of these a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, that Babylon will finally be destroyed. She will be surrounded by the armies of the ten horns of the beast, and they will burn her with fire and eat up her fleshly parts. Rev 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. Compare Luk 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. If we use discernment as God’s word tells us, we will understand. It’s not that hard.
I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no [more], until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [him].
And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity [shall have] an end, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this [shall] not [be] the same: exalt [him that is] low, and abase [him that is] high. Ezekiel 21
Ezekiel prophesied as an exile, in the land of the Chaldeans, before the first overturning of Jewish occupied Jerusalem by the Ancient Babylonians. At this time, The kingdom of God with the seed of David ruling from Jerusalem, was removed, as here written, until the time come when he that has right to that throne, also being a descendant of David, would once again rule from Jerusalem. The Jewish city of Jerusalem was was once again overturned by the Roman armies In 70 A.D., as Jesus had prophesied. The third overturning is yet to come. The New American Standard version says, “a ruin, a ruin, a ruin, I shall make it”, as do others. The next and final ruin or overturning of Jerusalem, will occur when the kingdom of “antichrist” headquartered there, will be destroyed by the ten horns upon the beast. Then Christ will confront the Kings of the entire inhabited earth in the world shattering battle of Armageddon.
In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, [even] in Jerusalem. Zechariah 12:6
” and I will give it [him]. “
And it shall come to pass, [that he that is] left in Zion, and [he that] remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, [even] every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: Isaiah 4:3.
Concerning Revelation
The Bible book of Revelation, penned by John, has been the topic of many a discourse and commentary throughout the years. As history unravels, we should be arriving at more accurate interpretations or explanations of this highly symbolic and often very complexing book. This is meat, “for those that are of full age” (Hebrews 5:14) in their understanding of God’s word. Those “rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15.)
“But in the days of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, they mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”Rev.10:7W
When exactly will this occur, and how?
First, I think it will be noted by honest observers that the revelation does not just run in chronological order, beginning to end. John was in the spirit, on the Lord’s day, and all of the events that are to happen ,”on the Lord’s day”, are seen at different angles so to speak; covering different aspects, while running concurrently “on the Lord’s day. For example; Are not the 42 months mentioned at revelation 11:2, where the holy city is trodden down, the same 42 months mentioned in chapter 13, vs.5, where the beast is given power…to make war with the saints, and to overcome them? Since the saints actually make up the holy city, (Ephesians 2:21,22.)and the time frame is the same, It is only logical that we must be talking about the same event here.
It is during these 42 months, that God gives power unto his two witnesses, and they prophesy for the same length of time, or 1,260 days(.30days x 42months)It is during this time, I believe, that the mystery of God will begin to become fully known to man, and on a worldwide scale. For after stating in 10:7 that the mystery of God should be finished when the seventh angel begins to sound, and the seventh angel actually sounding in 11:15, the story of God’s two witnesses is given to John to write down. They are given tremendous power by God (read One Master), even to torment them that dwell on the earth. Rev. 11:10 “And they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days dressed in sackcloth.” It is through them that God will speak! And, “God thundereth marvelously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.” Job 37:5.In fact, immediately preceding the account of the two witnesses, seven thunders utter their voices, but John hears a voice from heaven tell him” Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.” Then we are led to the words about “the mystery of God should be finished”, and the account of the two witnesses. It seems that at the time the two witnesses prophesy, the things that the seven thunders uttered will be unsealed, and they will speak the word of God, as Thunder!
In fact, From Rev.8:7, we are presented with seven trumpets, especially meant for and concerning those who have ears to hear ; as opposed to the viols poured out by “the seven angels having the seven last plagues” Rev.15:1 They will heed the call of the trumpets of God, and in them are the seven trumpets of God are understood and fulfilled.
For example, The seventh trumpet, the last trump, as Paul said, is the same one Jesus spoke of , when he said at Mathew 24:31, “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
Now notice that both in revelation 16:3 and in Rev. 8:8&9., the sea becomes blood. But why is it mentioned twice? And why the first time[Rev. 8:8&9., ] is it only , “the third part of the sea became blood”, and the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life died; while at Rev.16:3, “every living soul died in the sea”? Do you know?
In fact, every trumpet, with the exception of the fifth, deals with the third part of some natural feature on earth or men either dying , being burned up, fouled , darkened, or being killed or destroyed. I believe the designation, the third part, is very significant here.
“And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD(YHVH), two parts shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring them through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they will call on my name, and I will answer them:” Zechariah 13:8,9.
Look at what happens when the sixth angel sounds. The four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates (where Babylon is located) are “loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay a third part of the men.” Who were these, to be slain? Not the unrepentant, for the scripture says, ” And the rest of the men which were NOT killed by these plagues YET REPENTED NOT of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass and stone…neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.” So the third that are sought after to kill, are the third part of men that are repentant, that seek to follow the only-begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ. Babylon’s anti-christ, false messiah, will claim all those who refuse to receive the mark of the beast to be worthy of everlasting damnation in their rejection of him, the messiah (read 2 thessalonians 8,9.), the false one that is; hence” the fire and the smoke, and brimstone that issued out of their mouths” ,in their pursuit of this third part of men. Is it getting clearer?
This is in contrast to what happens with the sounding of the fifth trumpet, in which the locusts “should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their forheads.” This is a very stinging and biting preaching message to them who have either accepted the mark of the beast, or about to. It is written of these locusts that, “on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women (the bride of Christ), and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.” In them is fulfilled the scripture of Isaiah …
“Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shall make the hills as chaff.” Isaiah 41:15
“And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Revelation 8:6.
Also, notice these locusts shall not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; while, when the first angel sounds, the third part of trees was burned up, and all green grass was burned up. Exact opposites here. This brings to mind the words of Jesus, at Luke 23:31, where he says, “For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?” Many don’t know, but he was alluding to the prophesy at Ezekiel 17, where the house of Israel is likened to a green tree, whereas the true kingdom of God, in the hands of Christ, is likened unto a low tree. Referring to this kingdom , God says, “and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.” vs. 23 Just as Jesus said in his parable concerning the kingdom at Mark 4:32.” and (it) becometh greater than all herbs and shooteth out branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.” He continues in Ezekiel 17:24, “And all the trees of the field shall know that I the Lord have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree…”Yes indeed ,the house of Israel was indeed dry in 70 A.D. when the Roman armies destroyed it. But at the time of the death of Christ, while the religious leaders were thoroughly corrupt, the house of Israel as a whole still had life in it, it still had some green in it.., it was not completely dead in God’s sight, hence, Jesus’s statement, at Luke 23:31.It is interesting that one blind man to whom Jesus gave sight, upon first opening his eyes said,” I see men as trees, walking.” Mark 8:24.
When the first angels sounds, “there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of the trees was burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.” It seems to follow that only one third of the trees(men) still have green in them. The grass being green, all of it was burned up. It was no more. Same as one third part of trees. Those that are of Christ will flee, when they catch sight of the abomination of desolation standing where it ought not. They will be the objects of hatred by all men. They will know what to do at this time, for they will heed the words of our “One Master”. And “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth;” Rev. 14:13.

| Gog And Magog
It is often taught that the attack of Gog and Magog upon the people of God will occur right before the return of Christ. They say this is the attack of the Arab nations, along with Russia on present day Jerusalem. But in the book of Revelation, John mentions Gog and Magog in the attack of God’s people at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ. Revelation 20:7,8,9. Is Ezekiel 38 also refering to the end of the thousand years? I believe it does. Look at the 37/th chapter of Ezekiel. Here it says, ” Therefore prophesy and say unto them (the house of Israel), Thus saith YHVH God, Behold my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.” And ye shall know that I am YHVH, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves. And I shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live… Ezekeil 37:12-14. And I shall make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one King to them all…vs22 And who is that King? It is the one King David pictured. The Messiah. Jesus Christ himself. And my servant David shall be their prince forever .vs. 25 My tabernacle will be with them; yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. vs.27 Obviously this is not a picture of Israel today. It is obvious this is depicting the time of the reign of Christ and the resurrection from the dead. The Israel of today is largely a secular state, with estimates of only 5 percent of the Jewish population being “religious”. In fact it is illegal to preach your religion in Israel outside of your place of worship. The penalty is a Five year jail sentence. Think it was bad back then? They wouldn’t even let Jesus get started today. As we continue into the 38/th chapter, it is the end of the thousand year reign of Christ that is addressed. It speaks of the “people that are gathered out of all nations,… and dwell in the midst of the land” vs. 12. and they shall dwell safely all of them.” vs. 8. Safely? This has never been the case in modern day Israel, nor is it now in the United States where even more Jews live. But it will be the case during the thousand year reign of Christ among the “camp of the holy ones, and the beloved city” Rev.20:9 This beloved city will occupy what will be the “midst of the land”. The center of the earth! New Jerusalem! As Jesus shows in Mathew 24:31, the gathering of “his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”, does not happen until after the (great) tribulation, which is part of the sign Christ gave to his disciples of his return. It is during his reign that this great peace will be. “In his days the righteous shall flourish, and the abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.” Psalm 72:7 “And I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause the wild beast to cease out of the land: and they will dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.” Ezekiel 34:25 The false kingdom of anti-christ will claim to be the kingdom of God, and she will deceive many; “And those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32 This lie will be believed by those who will turn to the antichrist, and who swallow the nonsense that there is peace now, when there is no peace.Jer.6:14 It is Almighty God, YHVH, and not Gog who will destroy this false peace. “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. ” 1 Thess. 5:3 “That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2Thesalonians 2:12 The Prince of Tyrus Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God: This reminds of of a couple of other bible verses. For instance what Paul penned at 2 Thessalonians 2:3&4…the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Also what is written in Daniel 11:25…And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain. These scriptures all depict that one world government in which Satan is King. He sits on the throne of God as it were, in the midst of the seas, in the glorious holy mountain, which all know is Mount Zion, in Jerusalem. Therefore the land of Tyrus must in fact be the land supporting, or the land in which Satan will set his throne, namely in the land of Israel. Of this prince of Tyrus it is written… With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures: By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;… Also of Babylon the Great it is written… for thy merchants were the great men of the earth. That this King of Tyrus is in fact Satan, is further born out in these words of Ezekiel… Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Yes, this Prince of Tyrus is indeed Satan, the cherubic angel who lied to Eve in Eden. The chief of the rebels against the Great God YHVH. We know that the beast receives it’s power from the dragon…And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:Rev.13:4 (the great dragon …, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan Rev. 12:9) But Babylon reigns over the Kings of the earth. Yes, she is Satan’s main and top instrument on the earth…for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. Rev.18:23 So Babylon the Great is working very closely with Satan in order to be very instrumental in setting up his reign and throne from Jerusalem. This “work” is well underway. But Babylon (Tyrus), and her King will share the same disastrous fate. Listen to the Words of God… And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore (Babylon), and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. Rev.17:16. Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness. They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas. Ez. 28:8 and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. Ez.28:18,19.And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. Rev.18:21 Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at thee. And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited of seafaring men, the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, which cause their terror to be on all that haunt it! Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy departure. Ezekiel 26:16-18. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
