That great city Babylon, Further considered
In the bible book of Revelation, “That great city” without question, is referring to Jerusalem. In one instance, The Holy city “New Jerusalem” is also spoken of as “that great city”. The rest of the time it is referring to “Babylon the great”, as it states in the 18/th chapter, verse 10…”that great city Babylon, that mighty city”. In speaking of God’s “two witnesses” in the eleventh chapter, it states, “And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.” vs.8. “woe unto you! For ye build the sepultures of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.” Luke 11:47 Here, in speaking of your “fathers” reminds us of the words of Daniel 11:24…”And he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his father’s fathers.” YHVH is not familiar with the fathers of other nations, but is of his own, the nation of Israel. It further says, “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers”. Correct, for JHVH is the God of his fathers, such as Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Listen further to Daniel…”and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant(Jesus Christ).And after the leauge made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall become strong with a small people. He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province;” Daniel 11:23,24.
“Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which showed before of the coming of the just one; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:” Acts 7:52.

Yes, the saints at Jerusalem were persecuted and scattered. Not content at that, Zealous Jews such as Saul, sought after the disciples in other cities “whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.” Acts9:2.
A few years later , The Lord Jesus Christ, in the Revelation that he gave to the apostle John says, “Behold, I will make them of the synogogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and to worship at thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.” Rev. 3:9. He doesn’t say a synogogue, but THE synogogue of Satan.It does make sense that this Harlot who reigns over “the kings of the earth” is in actuality The Church of Satan.
But in modern times, things seem to be done more in secret, or undercover , as it were. Babylon loves to remain a “mystery”.But the word of God promises…”For, behold, the LORD(YHVH) cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” Isaiah 26:21. When the earths slain will be uncovered, where will they be found? “And in her was found the blood of prophets , and of saints, and of all who have been slain upon the earth.” Rev.19:24
The words of Jesus Christ ring ever truer today in connection with Babylon the Great…, “That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation.” Luke 11:50
Doesn’t it make sense, that during Jesus time on this earth, he would confront those, who at this time of the end ,would be grown in power so great, as to reign over the kings of the earth. The head of the house of the wicked, so to speak? Of course, for God knows the end from the beginning. Those evil ones, whose religious beginnings can still be traced back to Jesus’s time, had such vehement hatred for the Son of God, so as to have him put to death. Just as they called on Rome to do the actual execution; Christ puts it into the heart of the political beast to turn on them, this religious harlot. THEY are the ones that do the actual execution “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall burn her with fire. For God hath put it in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.” Rev. 17:16,17.
As can be seen from the scriptures in Daniel, such as 11:46, and What Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 2:4; this anti-Christ will actually sit on God’s throne, not in Rome or some other location, but in the “Holy mountain”, which is Mount Zion, over in Jerusalem. Does it not make sense that the two witnesses spoken of in Revelation eleven, who prophesy thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth, would also be preaching in or close to this same location? In fact the word states in 11:8, that “their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city” This is “that great city, Babylon” as stated in the 18/th chapter, verse 10.This is Jerusalem.
Who is a JEW ?
In speaking of Jew here let us not be moved to prejudice against any race of people. In fact the descendants of Abraham are a much blessed people. As God promised to Abraham, “That in blessing thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;” Genesis 22:17,18. A grand promise indeed!
And in speaking with the Samaritan woman at the well, Jesus said, “we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.”John 4:22.
Paul, in writing to the Roman brethren in chapter eleven says, thou “wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree.”vs.24. The tree itself is good. He speaks of them partaking “of the root and fatness of the olive tree.”vs17.The tree is of God and is God’s planting. But some of the branches have been” broken off.” In this sense, those grafted in, out of the nations, are also Jews; for Paul also says in Romans, “For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; …But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.” 2:28,29.
That is why in Revelation 7:4-8,the 144,000, also spoken of in the fourteenth chapter, who follow the LAMB whithersoever he goeth, are said to come from the twelve tribes of Israel, for they are truly God’s city, and “Holy nation” Hebrews 11:16,Exodus 19:6. “Israelites indeed in whom there is no guile “John 1:47.
Also the twenty four elders, from among them, in praising the “Lamb of God sing; thou “hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue and nation;” Although from among every kindred and nation, they are now “God’s holy nation”, and are counted as the promised seed of Abraham that shall bless all nations of the earth, along with our King and principle seed, Jesus Christ.
Jesus and all the apostles, as well as all the biblical prophets descended from the line of Abraham. These are indeed very special ones who God loves most intensely. In our day also, there are many righteous men that are truly Abraham’s seed, both naturally and spiritually. But to those that say they are Jews, and are of the synogogue of Satan, Jesus says, they “are not, but do lie” Rev. 3:9.
In light of all the forgoing scriptures, the meaning of the following words of Paul should be clear in our minds; “Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew FIRST , and also of the gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, of every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the gentile.” Romans 2:9,10.The same word “Jew'” is used for two very different groups of people, in fact exact opposites. “Babylon the Great” is the FIRST to receive God’s judgement of execution.(Rev. 17:16-18.and ch.19) Following this, Christ turns his attention to the “beast” and the kings of the earth(the gentiles).Rev. 19:19.Just as Paul said. Glory and honour and peace comes first to those who are “israelites indeed” who are counted as the real Jew’s in His eyes. They are of the 144,000, “which follow the lamb withersoever he goeth.”They are the” firstfruits to God and to the lamb.” Rev.14:4 It is of them God says, “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years” Rev. 20:4 Those they will reign over, as priests of God, are not granted eternal life, until proving faithful after the final test at the end of the thousand years. 20: 7-15.In this way,”the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished..” are fulfilled.Rev.20:5. The thousand year reign of Christ is what many old testament writers spoke of, such as Isaiah at Isaiah 35. Words such as “the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. “vs. 5,6.”Certainly the reign of Christ will be a great time of healing for all who would love him, and for even the earth itself.” These may be spoken of as gentiles, but after proving faithful, and at the end of the thousand years, they will be included in the “one flock” of God

More identification of the Harlot! “For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle….Then shall the LORD YHVH go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.” Zechariah 14:2,3.This is the exact scenario spelled out in the book of Revelation 17:12-18 and chapter 19, and even as Paul said. It is well worth reading. But in truth, we need to use our discernment here. For God is here speaking in reality of those who are :”Israelites indeed”, those who are counted as “Jews”, whatever race their flesh may have descended from. Here again, they are instructed to flee to the mountains, just as Jesus told his disciples. vs. 5. Compare Mathew 24:15-22. But those who fall for the whole false messianic thing , definitely should consider what Zechariah says, and compare it to Revelation, where the nations turn on the harlot, and burn her with fire. This should cause them at least to probe a bit further as to Babylon the Great’s identity. God is so great! God’s word is purified seven times! Psalm 12:6.
Lets continue with something from the prophet Habakkuk which well describes our time and the Final days yet to come.. Chapter 3
“Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people: Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that laden himself with thick clay!
Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them? Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the nations shall spoil thee; because of men’s blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein…Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and has sinned against thy soul.” Habakkuk 2:5-10.
Some may conclude this must be addressed to the United States, for all her military might, and her operations around the world.But in a greater sense God is addressing those who really control the U.S., and this is revealed in verse 16, where it reads,” Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’s right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing on thy glory.” As Paul has said, “he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit,… whose praise is of God”. Romans 2:29 God will reveal that these men,who say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie, are in the spirit “uncircumcised”. Therefore he says, let “thy foreskin be uncovered” or reveal who you really are; uncircumcised and not Jews, but heathen! Verse 15 states, “Woe to him that giveth his neighbor drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!”. Yes, “for all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication” Revelation 18:3.
Do you think it is just a coincidence that the Hebrew scriptures are full of denunciations against Israel. God’s word is purifies seven times. There is nothing like it and nothing it can be compared to. While everyone is trying to pin a symbolic meaning on everything, Jehovah hides the simple truth from the wise and prudent, and reveals it to mere babes. It is just so simple they cannot see it. They believe it requires some “advanced “and “educated reasoning”, but God reveals these thieves and imposters to be mere fools. And their foolishness will become known to all. They are void of God’s Holy spirit, yet they set themselves up. They set themselves up for a fall. How shall they flee from the judgement of Gehenna?They will pay the price of God’s judgement. Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans:for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate…Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengence, and will not meet thee as a man…Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The Lady of kingdoms… For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thiou hast said, None seeth me.Thy wisdom anf thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee… Isa.47
Paul and the man of lawlessness.
Remember that when I was with you I told you these things? Says Paul to the Thessalonians.
Paul was a Pharisee. As he says in his letter to the Philippians 3.6
“Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, [of] the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.”
Could it be that Paul had a secret knowledge of the plans of this elite Jewish cabal?
Plans which would include their instituting their own Messiah, by which they could rule the world?
Could this be why the zeal was so intense among the Jewish leaders , so that not only was Christ put to death, but Christians were also hunted down and persecuted and killed?
As the scriptures report in the book of Acts; 9:1,2.
“And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. ”
And could this also be why Paul could not enter into Jerusalem, thought there were many Christians living in Jerusalem at the time, evidently in relative peace? Acts 21:20-26
And why when he was spotted by there, even in disguise (head shaven), they stirred up the people against him , and tried to kill him,. But he was rescued by the chief captain of the band with soldiers and centurians.
And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said,
“Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou also bear witness at Rome.”
Indeed even Christ himself in his parable of the vineyard was saying as much , when he said at Mark 12:7,
“But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.;” Yes, this idea is one of Satan. He wants to take the place of Christ, and to rule the world.
Hence as Paul says of this man of perdition, “he as God, sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” Paul was telling the disciples of these things. And in the second chapter of Thesalonians he told them that before the day of Christ could begin, these things would actually take place.
And she hath changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are round about you;
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
And I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations. Ez. 5:5-9.
I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.
And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.
Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful…Ez. 16:10-13.
And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.
My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD. Ez. 16:17-19
And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. Ez. 16:12,13.
Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms. Ez. 16: 24,25.
But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom. Ez. 16:31-33.
Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.
So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry. Ez. 16: 36-42
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will Rev.17: 16,17
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. Rev. 18:6-8
Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters. Rev. 17:1

Rom 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Yes, to those Jews in Jerusalem who do love their God and who will fight, and will see the true messiah return in all of his glory, blessing be upon them forever. Amen For it shall be as written in Zechariah… And it shall come to pass, [that] in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off [and] die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It [is] my people: and they shall say, The LORD [is] my God. Zechariah 13 For it is also stated in the revelation…
